East Quay venue in Whitstable is one of the best Kent wedding venues. I’ve shot a loads of weddings there and love the place. It’s right on the beach, the ceremony overlooks the sea, the dinner area has open brick walls and loads of space and there’s a separate dance floor area with loads of space to throw shapes.
Ceremonies take place up on the mezzanine, which has awesome ocean views. There are only windows on one side, so I recommend you face your guests towards the window. You can have up to 100 guests for the ceremony, and 120 for dinner.
Their BBQ is served outside and is delicious and smells sooo good – or you can have a sit down meal served to the tables. Later on they do fish and chips or bacon/halloumi baps. They also do oysters during the reception, which always go down well – whenever I’ve shot there anyway! Apparently Whitstable is the home of the best oysters in the world so you have to do it, it’s like the law.
Venue hire goes from £4,750 for a summer Saturday to £950 for a winter weekday (my fave weddings ???? ) *don’t quote me on that, it’s just a guide from the brochure and doesn’t include food, which is on average £950 for a simple BBQ for 100 people – not too bad!*
If you’re getting married at East Quay Venue Whitstable and looking for a local wedding photographer, say hi!
Here’s a Wedding with the couple who got in the sea, and here’s another wedding at East Quay with a tandem bike and a BBQ, and another wedding that took place there in summer – just look at that sunset… and here’s one with smoke bombs and a bride with purple hair!
