Laughton Barns Sussex Festival Wedding

Jul 26, 2022 | Sussex Venues, Weddings

We shot Bree and Frankie’s legal ceremony in 2021 at Brighton Town Hall, so when it came to shooting the “real wedding” at Laughton Barns in 2022 we KNEW we’d have a great time. They’re the nicest people – proven by the fact that Bree was running around before the ceremony with a carrier bag full of games saying “I don’t want anyone to be bored even for a second!” They thought of other people all day, and as a result everyone had the best time!

Festival wedding vibes

It was a proper festival wedding, with three food trucks – tacos, burgers and pizza – all sorts of lawn games, from mini golf to cornhole, plus an arcade machine and foosball table! The guests were playing lawn games even before the ceremony started, so they clearly knew their audience!

They also had an outdoor serve-yourself beer tap (with multiple beers), an ice cream cart, cookies and tea, and a smores station. A foodie’s heaven!

But as the couple said: “Planning can be stressful, have as much fun with it as you can!” And while I’d don’t think they’ll be rushing to plan something so large anytime soon, it was clear they did have a lot of fun putting it on – and seeing it all come together.

For the ceremony, Bree and Frankie had a private “first look” behind the barn, then waited up at the ceremony area together and guests came to them – it was so nice seeing everyone descending across the field towards us.

Laughton Barns venue

Laughton Barns is a fab venue with SO much outside lawn space, a ceremony area a short hike across the field from the barn, and a huge barn with a bar and loads of space for both tables and a dancefloor at the same time. You enter the venue through a fairy-light cave, it feels like entering a magical wedding world – and the space is enormous as it’s a showground so they put on big events here.

Oh and it’s 9 minutes from our house! We’re surrounded by such fab wedding venues here and Laughton Barns is a firm fave. We’d love to shoot there again, although it wouldn’t be the same without Bree and Frankie there with their big smiles and enthusiasm for a good party! Maybe Bree could start a new business as a wedding planner…! (Sorry bree’s mum – she told me off for saying this on the day because Bree works for her!).

Enjoy Bree and Frankie’s fabulous Laughton Barns wedding!

“Anna and Todd are amazing! This is the second wedding they’ve done for us (we have one of those small covid town hall weddings) and they’re the best. So friendly, talented, and fun to be around!”
