Becky and Matt booked me for their Chilley Farm wedding ages ago, and during that time, we’ve become actual friends! They booked me before Todd even entered the picture, which tells you how long ago it was. They were set to tie the knot in 2020 (thanks for messing that up, Covid…), but now they’re finally married!
I remember meeting up with them for the first time and chatting about all sorts of random things (I think there were a lot of poo-related doctor stories from Matt which I always love to hear! Who doesn’t love a poo story?) and Becky even brought her album of old postcards! We hung out for hours, and I loved these guys immediately.
Then when I met Todd and we found ourselves living in the next village to Becky and Matt we all met up for lunch, and got on super well. Yay! The next time we saw them was actually on their original wedding date in 2020, because I’d convinced them to have a mini ceremony to mark the date – and I’m so glad they did it! They got to do something nice, wear wedding clothes, eat cake and hang out with family (albeit on Zoom!).
This summer was their actual wedding! On the morning of the wedding, Todd and I were saying it felt like we were just going to a mate’s wedding, and it felt like that all day too – it was fab.
Becky is very crafty (literally the craftiest person I’ve met) so there was tons of awesome homemade stuff, from decorations to little poms for all the guests to wear. The venue was Chilley Farm in Sussex – farm shop by day, wedding venue by… also day. They had their ceremony at Sussex Uni Meeting House.
If you’re planning a crafty outdoorsy wedding full of colour, you’ll love this Chilley Farm wedding.
ps Check out the random rubber ducks shaped like cats and weird things! Epic wedding inspo!
