Colourful smoke bombs Whitstable Wedding // Helen + Paul

Oct 7, 2019 | Weddings

Helen and Paul got married at East Quay in Whitstable and it was sooo colourful! Just my thing! It had dinosaurs, cat socks, and a cake covered in retro chocolate bars. Love it!

Here's their story:

Where did you meet?
We were friends before we got together and met mainly as Helen’s best friend from uni (Claire) was in a relationship with Paul’s brother (Aaron), who are also married.

How did you propose?
We were on holiday in Cornwall with my parents. Paul had asked my dad for permission the night before. Paul asked while we were sitting down looking out over the sea at Tintagel Castle. He actually had to tell me to stop talking enough so he could get a word in to ask! (I was waffling on as per usual)

What have you planned for the wedding inc personal touches?
I’m really fond of making things so have really enjoyed making different bits and bobs for the wedding including around 350 pompoms for my bunting, painting dinosaurs for the table numbers and folding well over 1000 origami stars. I think there will be a craft-shaped void afterwards!

What advice do you have for future couples planning a wedding?
From Helen - Start everything in plenty of time, especially if you want to make things!
From Paul - just say yes!

What made you choose Anna as a photographer?
We aren’t really into anything too posed or formal and I had seen Anna’s photos online and really loved how much fun was captured. I had a lovely gossip with her at a wedding fair at the venue and knew she was the one for us! We also share a love of cats and pink hair.

To find out where Helen got her stunning dress from, supplier details are below the photos!

Thanks as always to Todd, my second shooter, partner in crime and photographer of a lot of these photos!
