Whitstable Wedding // Becky + Fred

May 16, 2019 | Weddings

Becky and Fred got married in Whitstable. I instantly felt like one of the guests – Becky and Fred are so lovely, and so much fun. Becky pulls the funniest faces, just my kind of person to photograph!

The weather was awesome – it kept going from glorious teasing sunshine, to black clouds and torrential rain – but we got a killer beach sunset, so it was all worth it!

Here’s Becky and Fred’s story:

“We met on the wild west of Tinder back in 2014, and bought our little flat in East Dulwich a couple of years later. I guess you could say we suck at Tinder? (Or completed it!)

Fred popped the question on a boat while on a surprise holiday in Dubrovnik and the skipper gave us each a sachet of grappa to toast the engagement. Who knew that was even a thing?! It was somewhere super special to us and we were really keen to have the wedding by the sea. As much as we’d have loved to have dragged everyone to Croatia, Whitstable felt really right for us. It’s somewhere we’ve visited loads of times over the years and we couldn’t be happier to have the special day at the East Quay.

We’ve spent the last 18 months beavering away for the big day; making up mini bottles of grappa, making signs and even dragged the family in and got my step mum to make the cake.

Our advice for any couples planning their wedding would be not to rush it. We’ve loved getting everything ready for the wedding, and have tried our very best to keep everything chilled. At the end of the day as long as we’re both there we know we’re going to have an amazing time whatever happens!

I think trying to keep things relaxed is probably one of the main reasons why we chose Anna. We both really like her style of photography and on top of that, she took absolutely amazing photos for my brother Patrick and his wife Hazel’s wedding a few years ago. She’s the best!”
