The Old Vicarage New Forest Wedding // Victoria + Colin

I love weddings in the New Forest - it's one of my favourite places to just drive around and go for mini walks. I love the fluffy ponies, huge skies and cosy woodlands.

Victoria and Colin are lucky enough to live in the New Forest (I even Rightmoved houses while I was there!) and had their wedding 10 minutes from home at The Old Vicarage Venue, which is a beautiful country house that's perfect for weddings. It has a light, white-walled ceremony room (music to a photographer's ears!), an outdoor ceremony area, woodlands, a garden, a marquee if you fancy it, and a little pub on site too.

They had their ceremony in the stag room (not the official name but you'll see!), they both wore cat socks (not just any old cat socks but ones with their actual cats on) and gold glittery DMs for Victoria, and the whole day was just a whirlwind of belly laughs (dad's speech about an old decrepit Mini Victoria once bought creased me up).

Their story

"We met in July 2016 on Tinder and went on our first date for coffee and that coffee turned into a 9 hour long date and we have been inseparable ever since.

"Colin proposed to me at my favourite spot, Knowlton Church ruins, and was so nervous he actually forgot to ask me to marry him. He just spluttered "Will you wear this ring!" He had set up his camera to capture it all but sadly it didn't work.

"The theme for the wedding was very much whatever makes us happy, so lots of bold colours, mad shoes, lots of cats. We are hoping everyone just has a nice time!"

Advice for couples

"Advice for future couples, do your research, think of your budget and plan and do as much as early as possible. Everyone mocked us for being so well organised (I am an Office Manager, it was never not going to be organised) but it meant we got to enjoy all the planning, all the DIY and the countdown to the big day without being stressed out of our tiny little minds!

"As soon as I saw your photo with your cat and you had marketed yourself as a photographer for people who don't like having their photo taken, I just knew you would get us!"
