Every wedding I shoot this summer I’m like “best wedding ever!” And it’s true – they’re all the best wedding ever. This is entirely down to the couple being awesome, fun, relaxed and happy.
Liz and Luc are one such awesome couple. They officially got married a few days before the wedding (as a lot of my couples do) so they could have a ceremony in an apple orchard. They hired The Secret Barn in Sussex and hired bell tents for sleeping, a marquee for the bar (which Luc made) and used the old barn for dinner.
Liz and Luc got ready together and had lunch with guests before the ceremony, as they didn’t want guests to get hangry! The ceremony was in an apple orchard with haybales and a wooden door frame that Luc (a carpenter) also made. River Jones was the celebrant and they had gift-giving vows, which I’ve never seen before!
Speeches were due to start as the sun was setting, but the sunset was so glorious and golden, so I suggested they bring the tables outside for sunset speeches – I’m so glad I did, as it made for stunning photos.
In the evening they had Jackson and the Kingkickers band, who were amazing and played my favourite song! I threw down my cameras and boogied with the bride, it was so much fun. (It’s Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show if you’re wondering!)
