The Seahorse in Brighton is a fab wedding venue that's literally right on the beach. You can get married upstairs in the restaurant and have the dinner and party downstairs. Then there's the beach for wedding group and portrait photos, plus a play park for fun shots and the West Pier as a very iconic Brighton backdrop. The whole venue has floor to ceiling windows which means your photos look fab with all natural light. Here's a Halloween themed wedding I shot recently at The Seahorse in Brighton.
For a smaller, more intimate wedding - we're talking maybe 20-50 guests - The Seahorse is about as good as it gets. It's the kind of venue where the meal itself becomes part of the celebration.
The light in The Seahorse is soft and warm and genuinely flattering. I always think venues that feel good to be in also tend to photograph well, and The Seahorse absolutely fits that theory. The tones are rich, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the people eating there look happy - because they are.
I particularly love shooting the quieter moments at restaurant weddings. A couple sneaking a look at each other over wine. Someone laughing so hard they have to put their fork down. The moment the wedding cake comes out and everyone suddenly has somewhere to be. These are the shots that end up on your wall.
What the photography looks like here
If you're doing portraits, the streets around the seafront and The Lanes nearby give you gorgeous options - colourful, characterful Brighton in all its glory. We can nip out for 20 minutes and come back with some proper belters before the dessert arrives.
Practical stuff
The Seahorse works best for smaller guest lists, so if you're planning a more intimate celebration, it's worth getting in touch with them early.
