Islington Town Hall Wedding London // Paul + Juan

I met Paul and Juan at Ali and Verity's wedding years ago - they're wonderful men - so when they got in touch with me about their own wedding, I knew it would be a fun party. They had the ceremony at Islington Town Hall and the party at Shoreditch Studios, which is a photographic studio under a railway arch. It was stunning!

I had Todd with me, which meant we got totally different angles during the ceremony - including one from the balcony above. It may not seem like a big deal but actually to get to that balcony you have to leave the building, go round the back, enter a locked gate, climb a tower of stairs and sneak across a creaky balcony. All the while several readings took place - this is why having two of us is so awesome! You'll love the shot he got from up there - and you can play Where's Wally to see where I hid!

Here's their story...

"We met in Singapore - Paul was living in Sydney, Juanmi in Singapore. Paul went to Singapore for work, and they met there! The first year was spent meeting up every 6 weeks all around Australia & Asia before finally moving in together a year later!

"Well... Paul planned to propose as a surprise in Vienna, but Easyjet cancelled our flight and so after going back home from Gatwick, Paul proposed at midnight in our bedroom whilst in our PJs!

"As Juanmi is from Mallorca we have brought a little bit of Mallorca & Spain to London! The food is from the Basque region. The flowers are following a theme of wild flowers, trying to mirror what can be found in Mallorca during spring / summer, and will also complement the image of Mallorca we are projecting on the wall of the studio!

"Advice - as we don't live in the UK and didn't want the stress of trying to organise the wedding from Spain on our own, we found The Wedding Arrangers who have taken all of that stress away for us."

"We went to a wedding a few years ago where Anna was the photographer and we instantly knew that Anna would be perfect for when we got married too! We loved her super relaxed style and the way she felt part of the wedding. Most importantly the photos she took were amazing - capturing the funny moments in a really spontaneous & informal way. We definitely didn't want a stuffy formal photographer!"
