I’ve wanted to shoot a wedding at Tunnels Beaches in Devon for ages – so much so in fact that I wrote on my website that I wanted to shoot there – and in a perfect case of you get what you ask for, Lynne and Jon googled the venue and found me! Of course I wouldn’t shoot a wedding if I didn’t get on with the couple and really like them, so I was lucky in that respect too – they’re totally lovely. Lynne’s big smile will you have you smiling along with her as you read this post!
The whole wedding took place at the same venue (midweek, which is becoming super popular), an outdoor wedding venue in Ilfracombe in Devon, with the beach right below. The surroundings are so craggy and rugged and beautiful, and they were blessed with beautiful weather. I found out later that this venue books up five years in advance! I can believe it, it’s stunning!

See how lovely her laugh is?

The dress had about 387 layers, it was a brave bridesmaid who tackled them.

That backdrop, right?

Tears all round. I love this photo!

They decorated the place with the theme of their USA road trip travels. Lynne made all the paper map flowers herself. If anyone needs to get in the wedding game, it’s her.

This tidal pool is invisible a lot of the time. When the tide is low the landscape completely changes, it’s incredible.

Yep, they are awesome.

Lynne swished her dress around in the black sand, making is even dirtier on purpose. Love her so much.

The tide came up super fast – I did the group photo standing in the sea and a huge wave hit me from behind, soaking me! Lynne had the same fate when testing the water…

The famous tunnel that gives the venue its name.

Guilty: I made everyone stare into the sun for Jon’s speech because I knew the light would make him look like this… A moment of slight discomfort for an everlasting beautiful photo. Sorry guys, I hope you agree it was worth it!

I didn’t ask them to do this, they’re genuinely this damned cute.

Naughty guest trying to change the dancefloor playlist. A minute later a particular song came on and Lynne said “oh this is X’s favourite song!” I asked if X was this girl (showed her this photo) and hilarity ensued.

Again, I didn’t ask them to dance by the firepit, they just did *heart*
