Abi and Rob got married in the mountains miles from civilisation in the south of Spain at Alora Yurts, which is a yurt accommodation, but on occasion they'll transform it into an incredible wedding venue! My favourite thing about Alora Yurts has to be Suzy, one of the nine rescue dogs living at Alora Yurts - she followed us everywhere, loved a lap and even became an honorary bridesmaid, leading the girls down the aisle! (She's in a lot of photos).
The day before the wedding there still wasn't a spot chosen for the ceremony, so Abi and I wandered around looking at the light at the same time of day and spotted a little cosy nook by the entrance filled with sofas and tables (known as the wifi spot!) It was perfect for a ceremony as it was shaded from the sun and was the perfect size for 14 guests. So we cleared all the stuff, cleaned it up, grabbed loads of plants from around the yurt camp and transformed it into a magical ceremony area. Abi had made loads of beautiful dreamcatchers, which she hung at the front, and her sister filled pots with fresh flowers.
The ceremony spotlight was momentarily stolen by Suzy, who decided Abi's dress would be super comfy to lie on. Naughty pups aside, it was a gorgeous ceremony, with lots of tears - I love the photo of Rob's parents trying really hard not to bawl!
The ceremony was followed by fizz in the sun, and a 7-course tapas menu. There was a lot of fizz and gin consumed, and everyone ended up passed out on sun loungers before the party began, so we went to bed and picked up again the next night!

"We wanted to run away and get married, and we couldn't have done this without kidnapping our nearest and dearest and taking them to the Spanish mountains! We love Alora Yurts and the nomadic lifestyle of the owners, Darren & Sara. Throughout different stages in our 8 year relationship we have stayed with the couple a few times in different locations, where we have adored the rescue dogs, moonlight hot tubs, sun worshipping and star gazing, cava o'clock, fantabulous communal dinners, and finding calm in our usually hectic lives. We love Alora Yurts and couldn't have thought of a more meaningful location to have our wedding. We equally love rural Spain, local wine and tapas. So the 'theme' of our wedding, I guess, is eating and drinking, which coincidentally are two of our favourite things!"
