GEMMA AND KYLE'S CROATIAN WEDDING IN THE HILLS OF SLANO
Gemma and Kyle got married this summer at the spectacular Gastro Vista, which is a quirky restaurant in the hills of Slano, Croatia. It was such a fun wedding and the sun shone all day long. This made me especially happy when the saxophonist played against the sunset - I laid on the floor to get a cool silhouette, I love trying funky things, and destination weddings are perfect for it!
Getting ready
Gemma got ready at a nearby hotel with her bridesmaids and super cool tattooed 50s-dressed mum, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. There was bra cutting, gift giving and a lot of tears. Kyle got ready in a villa in Dubrovnik with his friends and parents.
The ceremony
The ceremony was an intimate affair overlooking the hills and the harbour of Slano. During the ceremony they read their own vows. It was a real tear-jerker and so personal.
The reception
The reception was in the restaurant at the venue. They chose Gastro Vista because the food is incredible and the views are amazing. They weren't wrong!
They had espresso martinis in the afternoon, and an intimate family dinner in the evening. We popped down to the harbour for photos at sunset, and had a little dip in the sea!
For dinner they served meat (and more meat), which was loved by all the guests. I had a delicious fresh fish cooked to order - woohoo! The first dance was under the stars, surrounded by sparklers, and they finished off the evening with a boogie in the moonlight and lots of homemade cocktails.
The funniest part of the day was the pineapple bowling, because the venue left cabbages as balls instead of the requested coconuts!
The couple
Gemma and Kyle’s wedding was so chilled and such a laugh. Here’s their Croatia wedding!
