Colourful wedding at Highden Estate – the Walled Garden, Pulborough

May 1, 2025 | Weddings

I absolutely loved being part of Isla and Mike’s day – a celebration brimming with character, warmth, bold colour, and effortless joy. The Walled Garden at Highden Estate became a secret world for the day – intimate yet expansive, structured yet wild – the perfect stage for their playful love story.

Light, Laughter & Authentic Moments

One of my favourite things is to disappear into the background, to wait for those unguarded glances – when Mike cracks a joke mid-ceremony, when laughter ripples among guests. The light in the garden was soft and generous, letting me play with shadows and highlights without forcing stiffness. It felt like everyone was moving through the space, alive, natural, unforced.

Colour as Storytelling

Isla and Mike weren’t afraid of bold decor! There was rainbow bunting everywhere – my fave. Their florals, linens, signage and styling had personality and verve. It wasn’t about matching a trend – it was about what felt true to them. That vibrancy against the walled garden’s stone, foliage and hidden edges created contrast and depth in every image.
