Alternative engagement shoot ideas

My engagement shoots are not posey and awkward! It's more about documenting what you guys enjoy doing, be it making pancakes on a Sunday morning, walking the dogs in the woods or skating along the seafront. But sometimes it's hard to come up with ideas for your engagement shoot, so I've come up with a few suggestions for unusual and quirky engagement shoots for you to either pick from or use as a starting point to let your imagination run wild.

Outdoorsy

Picnic in the park/woods
If you're foodies like me, you'd probably enjoy an engagement shoot themed around food! Fill a hamper with your favourite things, lay down a blanket and enjoy!

Riding bikes
In circles or up and down a dirt track, whatever takes your fancy - awesome if you're an outdoorsy couple who likes to spend your weekends getting muddy on your bikes.

Paddling in the sea
Are you the adventurous type? Brighton is perfect for a bit of British seaside engagement shoot fun.

Walking on the beach

Go Ape
Swinging through trees, ziplining, balancing and all sorts of other treetop adventures - this would be a great engagement shoot location for outdoorsy adventurous types.

Crazy golf
The genius idea of one of my couples who had their engagement shoot at the Brighton mini golf!

Ice cream on the beach

Walking in the woods
No pressure, just pop on your wellies and bring the dog if you have one!

Indoorsy

The arcades

Have a game on the arcades in Brighton - we're not technically allowed to take photos in there but we're good at being sneaky and the photos are so worth it!

Having a pint in the pub
Calm those nerves with a pint!

Having a cuppa and some cake in your favourite cafe
You can't argue with tea and cake.

Baking cakes
I'll come round your house, you make cakes and get covered in flour and make a bomb site out of the kitchen, I take photos of said flour covering and bomb site, we all eat cake!

Making breakfast at home
Probably my favourite engagement shoot ever, I rocked up at their house while they were still in their PJs and shot them making breakfast together - something they do every weekend, so it was awesome to capture this memory for them. You could also do a cooking dinner shoot.

Slightly crazy

Dress up as zombies
Because zombies.

Skate park
Get your blades on and show off your skills.

Roller disco

Nostalgic fun

Bowling

Ok so maybe the shoes aren't very sexy but it's good fun!

Cocktail workshop
Love cocktails? Let's go make a signature cocktail for your wedding!

Powder paint fight
It's fun, it's messy and it's colourful. Why wouldn't you want to throw paint at each other?

Seasonal

Orchards
Have a picnic under an apple tree.

Lavender fields
Soooo pretty! I love going to the lavendar fields in the summer - smells so goooood.

Farm visit
Stroke a pig.

Pick your own fruit
And maybe sneak a few tasters along the way!
