Tara and Paul got married at Asylum in London, and had their reception at Coin Laundry.
Tell us about your wedding:
“A modern, colourful stress-free London wedding was our vibe for the day. No set colour schemes or rules!
We picked venues that were fabulous in their own right and didn’t need a lot of decor. (Because who wants to lug decorations from Scotland to London on the train? Not us that’s for sure!)
We loved Asylum Chapel from our first visit and booked it immediately after seeing it. The stained glass windows had a total wow factor! Our first reception venue sadly closed down but it led to us finding the fantastic Coin Laundry! We’ve enjoyed eating and drinking there on all pre wedding trips. The food is just incredible and the place itself has such a lovely relaxed vibe.
Our advice to people planning their weddings would be to pick and choose the traditions that suit you and to really think about the things that matter to you and focus your budget there.
We saved lots of money by forgoing the bridal boutiques. I got a fabulous, colourful David Bowie themed dress online and it even had pockets!
Don’t feel pressured to DIY anything if you don’t want to. Our place cards were our only DIY and that was more than enough.
For the love of all that’s good stay away from Pinterest for wedding decor. You’ll just get sucked in and your plans for decor may suddenly feel inadequate. Food, venue, celebrant and photos were our number one priority – Paul is a chef so that figures!”
Why did you choose us as your wedding photographers?
I mean they’re clearly the best in the biz! We were so pleased to book Anna and Todd for our day. Their photography screams fun and they are also cat people just like us!
